STATICE SIN PASTEL SHADES
Produces elegant sprays of papery blooms in a soft blend of lavender, blush pink, apricot, cream, lilac, rose, and pale yellow. Spacing: 20–30 cm between plants
Transplant to finish: 12–16 weeks
Transplant after the danger of severe frost has passed.
Pinching: Not recommended. Plants naturally produce multiple flowering stems, and pinching may delay flowering.
Staking: Usually not required, but support netting is beneficial in windy locations or for commercial cut flower production.
Frost: Tolerates light frosts once established. Protect young seedlings and transplants from heavy or prolonged frost.
Photoperiod: Facultative long-day—flowers earlier under longer day lengths but performs well across a range of day lengths.

🌾 Soil & Fertility
Soil: Well-drained, light, sandy or loamy soil
pH range: 6.0–7.5
Fertiliser: Apply a balanced fertiliser every 2–3 weeks during active growth.
Avoid excessive nitrogen, which encourages leafy growth and reduces flower production.
💧 Watering
Keep evenly moist during establishment.
Once established, statice is drought tolerant and performs best when allowed to dry slightly between waterings.
Avoid waterlogged soils, which can lead to root diseases.
Ensure good drainage, provide adequate airflow between plants, and avoid overhead watering where possible.
✂️ Harvesting & Post-Harvest
Harvest stage: Harvest when approximately one-third to one-half of the florets on each flower spike have opened and the papery calyces are fully coloured.
Stem length: 50–80 cm ideal for bouquets.
Post-harvest:
Remove lower foliage.
Place immediately into clean water with floral preservative.
Vase life is typically 10–14 days.
Excellent for drying—hang stems upside down in a warm, dark, well-ventilated space to preserve their vibrant colour.
