๐ธ Flowering & Harvest

Flower Type: An abundance of well filled semi-circular, radiant white blooms
Stem Strength: Uniform, well-branched stems
Vase Life: Long-lasting with proper care
Harvesting: Cut when blooms are fully open for best quality
Matricaria Baya
PLUG CARE: ASAP plant them out or bump them up into large pots to avoid them becoming root bound.
HARDY: Plant out after last frost - Slightly frost hardy avoid direct frosts. They thrive in heat and will survive until first frosts or two.
SPACING: 20 - 30 cm
PLANT: Plant in full sun. One pinch is recommended when the plant is 30cm tall. Pinch down to 3- 4 sets of leaves. This will promote side branching and bushier plant
Water well as transplants until the roots get established. As mature plants water less as they can tolerate dry conditions OK and prefer not to have wet roots. Keep plants deadheaded to promote continuous flowering all season.
Strawflowers are perfect for drying. Simply hang upside down in a dry, ventilated area and they will dry out fully within a couple weeks. Flowers harvested for drying can be picked slightly more immature to prevent the buds from fully blasting open during the drying process.
HARVEST: Harvest when the first 2-3 rows of petals have unfurled but before the center disk is showing - they will continue to open after harvest.
