Standard Carnations are the large, single-headed varieties. Well known for their long vase life, reliability and endless possibilities for styling. With a light scent they are widely used for bouquets and wedding arrangements.

🌱 Growing Conditions Common Name: Standard Carnation Height: 45–75 cm Spacing: 20–30 cm Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade (at least 5–6 hours daily) Soil: Well-draining sandy loam; pH 6.5–7.5 Watering: Moderate; keep evenly moist during rooting and early growth Fertilizer: Balanced liquid feed every 3–4 weeks during active growth, the enjoy a foliar Boron spray Temperature: Prefers 18–24°C; avoid extreme heat or cold during establishment
🌿 Planting & Care Planting Time: Transplant rooted cuttings in spring or autumn (mild climates) Pruning: Pinching at 5 or 6 set of leaves will create spray branching. No Pinching and you will have a large crown flower. Deadhead to prolong blooming Pest Resistance: Generally hardy; monitor for aphids, thrips, and fungal issues Transplant Tip: Plants will develop extra unwanted buds if subjected hot temps, they can be removed.
